First Assembly of God in Greeley, Colorado, began "Building Bridges" to our community in 1910. The first Pastor was Rev. Axel Anderson and he held the first meetings in his home. Prior to 1914, the fledgling congregation held together by utilizing house-to-house prayer meetings in various homes. In 1914, the congregation of First Assembly began meeting in an upstairs room over a garage on 8th Avenue. In 1921 the church was worshiping in the basement of the old "Greeley Building" on the corner of 8th Street and 8th Avenue. Between 1925 and 1943, the church relocated five different times and finally, after thirty-three years in existence, property was purchased at 9th Street and 13th Avenue.

The new sanctuary was built during the latter days of World War II and it was dedicated on Sunday, June 8, 1947. In 1980, ground was broken on the new property that was purchased at 3000 W. 16th Street, our present location. Later that same year construction began on a 33,000 square foot facility with a sanctuary that seats nearly 1,000. Our roots here at First Assembly run deep and the tenacity that drove those who have gone on before us is still alive in the hearts of our Church Body today. Our rich heritage has laid a solid foundation and has paved the way for us to continue "Building Bridges" to our community.

Our current pastor is Michael Popineau who served as the Associate/Children's Pastor from 1995-1999. After a short time away, Pastor Michael returned as the Senior Pastor in August of 2001. Pastor Michael and his wife Nan, and their two children, Brianne and Brock, are a wonderful asset to our Church family.
